The French Horn

In my escapades of listening to music from various genres of that lifeblood we like to call music, I have noticed that in the pieces that make the hair on the back of my neck stand up, there is the presence of the instrument they call the French Horn.

The french horn is a difficult instrument to play, With many notes available at the players disposal just by altering his embouchure.

Whether it's a screaming ascending glissando, or a smooth yet powerful sustained note to form the foundation for the other instruments, this certainly is one of my favourite instruments.

That, and the Cello.

This is one of my favourite poems describing the tone of a cello..

Dulcet tones
Drip like honey,
Oozing slurred harmony
As the tails of horses
(resin-smooth)
Draw across silver
Of trembling cords.

Salticrax

I sit here at my computer with a box of Salticrax in front of me. Adverts always say that they taste good with anything.

Sometimes advertising can be false.. But not this time.. Salticrax are one of my vices. I cannot eat just one. I just can't. They're too amazing.

There is a lot of stuff to say about Fruity Loops studio. I use version 5, hoping to get version 9 sometime soon.

Let's start off with a basic beat.

Open FL. That's probably your most important step ;)

You should see a studio setup with a Kick, Clap, HiHat and Snare.

Depress The small blocks on the sequencer and they should turn white. this means that when you press the spacebar, a beat, however scrambled should come out.

The sequence should look something like this. Ok the picture turned out in a somewhat strange location. But you get the point.

So now, experiment with clicking in beats and see where you get :)

On typing this I've realised just how hard it is to explain how to use FL. So I'm not going to. Because my brain will explode and that won't be of any use to either of us now, will it

Further on we get to things like Mixer routing and ASIO recording along with a gate reverb frequency cutoff automation clip.

BaBOOM. Yeeeeah bitches

Good Morning, Vietnam

There seem to be an infinite amount ways of to greet. In english, too. Excluding other languages.

Oh well. Today I write Maths Literacy. Paper 1. It's one of the easiest subjects on earth. on earth.. You can format these things?! High five!

I feel awful. The stomach, it is ailing.

Today, I'm going to show you a picture of something I found yesterday. It's wonderful.

War of Ages - The Fall of Pride

Goodness me.. what a song..

Find it and listen to it Gentles.. This song uses some very unique rhythms.

Cast aside all your doubt.
We march along the blood stained trails, tangled with the web of our fate.
Any second could be our last.
An army will for at the gates.
With swords drawn we attack deceit.
The weak will perish at your feet as the earth gives birth to death.
Your lies won't take this war from me.
We march to the beat of your heart.
The sound of your voice flows through us as we stand to face our past.
The chains we bear hold us down.
Overwhelming our every move.
We never thought it would be like this.
We're held down by our lust for pride.
Create is us a warriors heart as we battle for an open mind.
Give me strength to pass the test of time.
I know I'll fight for you.
I know this is all you've asked of me but can I just let go.
Lay down your life and put to rest all our doubt.
Free us from our lies for we are made new.
You gather our sorrow in life.
We've fallen from your light and grace
It's still the same day here in the land of me.. And I've just finished eating. it's terrible. I think I have the smallest stomach in the world.

Oh well..

Sometime soon I'm going to have a rant about FL Studio, the producing program I use. There is knowledge I would like to impart.

Good morrow, Fair Gentles

You know.. this is, in fact, the first time i'm writing a blog. The thought to start came to me while i was about to doze off in my Computer exam and i was reminded of the advert a while ago with the mom making supper. She says "my son has got me started on blogging" and then carries on to talk about Culinesse. A substance which makes your food amazing. Useless stuff. I hate margarine.

I've never actually seen the point of blogging. Is this a journal? Is this an update of what I'm doing at the moment? for the record, I'm sitting. Yes. That concludes the section on what I'm doing.

It even saves! Incredible.

Thank you to www.blogspot.com, You were the answer to one of the questions in my exam today. For this, I thank you.

Stay tuned for more, from SevenLittleGnomes.
